Here's what you need to know about the latest efforts to impeach Trump:
Just a little something I wanted to share with everybody.
By now, I'm sure you all have seen the above photo, well this photo got the woman in it in a bit of hot water. Juli Briskman has come forward as the woman in the photo and when she was asked why she made the gesture she said this, "My finger said what I was feeling. I'm angry and I'm frustrated." Briskman was fired from her job @ Akima LLC after the photo went viral and she confessed that it was in fact her in the photo. According to Akima LLC, she was fired for "violating the company's social media policy." Briskman has confirmed to The Washington Post that she has contacted the ACLU regarding her firing. Brief thoughts: 1st and foremost, I've said it before on here and I'll say it again, I respect any and everybody who has the balls to stick it to Trump and tell him exactly what they think of him! So, she is officially one of my many Resistance heroes! Secondly, kudos to her for being honest and admitting that it was her because what I do in my own time is my own personal business! I could understand if she did what she did during company time, but she was on her own time, doing her own thing. And it's not like we're able to see her face in the photo, soooo if the company is worried that it's a bad reflection on them, then firing her backfired on them. If this company hadn't fired her, we probably would've never known who she is or who she worked for, however now we know that Akima LLC fired her for expressing herself and conducting her own form of protest on her own personal time. Chile, when I tell you that Donald J. Trump has these racist assholes displaying their true feelings loud and proud! Here's what you need to know about the latest NFL drama:
Reactions across the sports world:
Brief thoughts: ...sighs...you know what I can't stand? I can not stand somebody who says what they truly feel because let's remember, you only truly say what you really feel, and then think they can apologize for what they've said and it's all supposed to just magically disappear. NO! It does not work like that! I wholeheartedly believe that Bob McNair sees his predominately black team as nothing more than inmates that are only there to make his racist ass money. It's perfectly clear that he doesn't view his players as human beings or individuals, his statement made that perfectly clear. Lastly, if you weren't referring to the players, then who the hell were you talking about? You were @ a meeting talking about players kneeling for the national anthem, sooo again the question has to be asked, who were you referring to? His apology can't fool me, we know you were talking about the players because there's absolutely nothing else that you could've been referring to! One last thing, I encourage everybody to do a Google search about Bob McNair, where you'll find that this isn't the 1st time he's said some outlandish bs about minorities. UPDATE #3

Moving right along from football to basketball. This will be quick because as I've previously stated, I don't know anything about basketball! For those that don't know or don't remember, the Golden State Warriors won the 2017 NBA Championship and it's tradition that every year the team gets an invite to the White House to celebrate. Welllllllll, we live in different times and we have a different type of creature living in the White House. Thus far, no invitation has been extended to the Warriors, no surprise there, and many players have said even if there was an invitation, they wouldn't be attending, no surprise there either! One of the most vocal players on the team, of course is the Warriors' star player, Steph Curry. Curry was asked last Friday by the press if he would give if there was an invitation offered, to which he replied, "I don't want to go. My beliefs stay the same." Well, apparently Trump got wind of that very simple statement and he responded with the following tweet. Brief thoughts: Again, I'm not a fan of basketball, but I am a fan of anybody and everybody who has the balls to stand up to Trump on a very public level. I 100% agree with their decision to not go because they weren't welcome to come in the 1st place!
Trump didn't want all those players there because let's be perfectly clear, Trump doesn't like minorities, and what are most basketball teams made up of??? Minorities! And that's perfectly fine because we won't and don't make it a habit of going places where we're not welcome! UPDATE
Trump is still flapping his gums via Twitter because he clearly doesn't have enough to do! Here's what he had to say in response to Roger Goodell: Here's what some NFL owners had to say in response to Trump's comments: More players have come out to share their thoughts on Trump's comments regarding the NFL and the Warriors: ORIGINAL POST
I really really wanted to do this post last night, but couldn't cause the things that were said made me sooo mad that I thought it best to not get on here and start typing away. Last night, Trump was in Huntsville, Alabama campaigning for Luther Strange, who's a candidate seeking to secure a seat in the Senate that was left vacant by Jeff Sessions. As expected, Trump went off the rails and started talking a bunch of nonsense in an effort to appease his base. Somehow, during his speech, Trump thought it would be a good idea to speak about certain things going on in the NFL...wanna take a wild guess what those certain things are? Just hold on to your guess and continue reading to see if you're correct. Trump had the following to say about those certain things, "Wouldn't you love to see one of the NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, "Get that son of a bitch off the field right now? You know, some owner is going to say, 'That guy who disrespects our flag, he's fired."' He also encouraged people to leave the stadium to protest players kneeling during the national anthem, saying "I guarantee things will stop." I can feel myself getting pissed off all over again and you should be pissed off by what this embarrassment of a human being had to say as well. Before we move on, I just wanna get some things off my mind. Not standing for the anthem or raising a fist through the anthem is not disrespect, it's mine, yours, and these players' rights as American citizens. And let's not forget that it's not about the flag itself, people keep forgetting the meaning behind these protests. Let's remember that Colin Kaepernick started his protests in an effort to highlight the unjust and numerous killings of unarmed black and brown people @ the hands of police....remember that? Trump saying what he said has made it clear that he's a racist, he has no idea what he's talking about, and he's contributing to the problem isn't of helping. Trump just loves to call for the firing of somebody when in fact, it's he that should be fired because he's an embarrassment to this country and he's not doing a damn thing to help this country or bring it back together. So, you want these men to be fired for exercising their rights as Americans? Ok, so let's say that these owners do fire these players, guess what's gonna happen next! Even bigger boycotts, lawsuits, etc. Lastly, people can leave whatever stadium they may be in, but that's never going to stop these protests! The only thing that's going to stop the protests are people who stop killing unarmed black and brown folks. It's not rocket science, it's simple! Here are reactions from the NFL's commissioner and players:
Well...that didn't go as planned.
Former FBI Director James Comey attempted to deliver a convocation address @ Howard University in DC today and as expected a lot of students weren't pleased with him being there. As Comey was about to speak, protesters stood up and started chanting things such as, "we shall not be moved," "I love being black," "white supremacy is not a debate," "get out Comey, you're not our homey," and "no justice, no peace, no racist police." In response to the chants and jeers, Comey told the angry crowd, "I am here @ Howard to have a conversation. I hope you'll stay and listen to what I have to say. I've listened to you for five minutes." Do you think that stopped the crowd?? OF COURSE NOT! After listening to the chants and protests for a couple more minutes, Comey said, "Can we give this another shot?" Also, @ 1 point, Howard University cut the live feed to the event and replaced it with a documentary about the history of the school. The feed was later put back up. Brief thoughts: I'm honestly on the fence about all of this. On 1 hand, I don't think Comey is a bad guy, and I respect that he stood up to Trump even til the bitter end. Although, I will admit that I'll never be able to forgive and forget that he brought up Clinton's emails right before the election for absolutely no reason! Now, on the other hand, I do understand where these protesters are coming from. As an African American in this country, if some high level person in the FBI or the Justice Department said they were gonna come speak wherever I may be, I can admit I would be a tad bit hesitant to welcome them with open arms too. I'm all about making sure the voices of the oppressed are here, hence why I started this blog, but in terms of what happened today @ Howard, I believe that they should've given him a chance and just heard what he had to say. You don't have to like the guy, but give the guy a chance and then if you don't like what he has to say protest until you can't protest any longer! I also understand that there are a million other people on the face of this Earth that Howard could've chosen to give the convocation as opposed to Comey. There are so many other people that could've been chosen who would've had a greater influence on these young people than Comey, so I understand that it does feel like a wasted opportunity. My only hope is that now that they've made their positions known loud and clear, a conversation can now be had with Comey to educate him on what it is to be black in America and how his positions and rulings on certain things have negatively impacted our community. ORIGINAL POST I'm sure many of you have heard about the unnecessary controversy surrounding Jemele Hill, who's 1/2 of the hosting on ESPN's "SC6." However, for those that haven't, here's a quick run down.
I waited to do this post because during the week, I mainly do updates, and I also didn't want to rush the things that I had to say. 1st and foremost, I don't see what the big problem is. Jemele said absolutely, positively nothing wrong. She stated nothing but facts. The facts are that Donald J. Trump is a the most ignorant and offensive president that's ever been elected, period! Jemele is absolutely correct that Trump was crafted by white supremacy, hence why he'll never fully and wholeheartedly denounce them. Jemele is once again correct when she said that Donald Trump is a white supremacist. He is what he is. He has shown us time and time again, exactly what and who he is, and unlike some people I believed him the 1st time he made it clear how he felt and what he thinks! It is also a fact that he surrounded himself with other white supremacists, look @ the people who surround him in the White House! I believe that ESPN's response to all of this is a bunch of bullshit. Jemele should've never had to apologize and/or release a statement about her tweets. Nothing she said was inappropriate, she crossed no lines, she did nothing wrong, but most importantly, if the facts that she stated don't represent what the network stands for, then what does ESPN stand for? Their whole response to this "controversy" has made it perfectly clear that they're not willing to take a stand against a man who clearly sides with hate groups such as the KKK, neo-Nazis, etc. A network that doesn't have the balls to stand up and do the right thing, doesn't deserve my support and they don't deserve any of yalls either. Regarding Sanders, I thoroughly wish she would just never speak again. You're calling for a woman who spoke nothing but truth about your precious piece of shit boss, but you won't call your boss out for outwardly supporting and receiving support from hate groups?? Ok! Your boss should be fired for tearing this country apart @ the seams. Sarah Huckabee Sanders is the 2nd biggest liar and hypocrite on his planet next to Donald Trump. And lastly, regarding Trump and his tweet. Nobody is going to apologize to you because nothing was untrue about what Jemele said. You're in denial and you're delusional if you really think what she said were untruths. A little something I wanted to share.
Los Angeles City Council has voted to replace Columbus Day with Indigenous People's Day. The council voted 14-1 to make the 2nd Monday in October a day to celebrate aboriginal, indigenous, and native people. Fun facts: Many states and cities around the country already replaced Columbus Day with a form of Indigenous People's Day
Brief thoughts: I've never understood why we celebrate Columbus Day. He wound up here on accident and most importantly, he didn't even discover America! There were already people here! You can't discover something people already knew about! You can't discover land that people were already living on! But of course, in this country, we just love to celebrate men that have killed off others, brought disease to those who were already living here, etc. I support celebrating Indigenous People's Day nationwide. |
