ORIGINAL POST Here's what you need to know about the California mudslides:
The title of this post is literally what I said over and over while I was reading up on what I'm about to tell yall.
Of course, as everybody knows, Mother Nature has been playing absolutely no games in 2017 and due to all the natural disasters, federal disaster workers worked many, many, many long hours. They worked hard and did the best they could with the government that they have, so they should be compensated accordingly right? Apparently not. According to FEMA, some workers may have to pay back some of their overtime by having their future paychecks garnished. Yes, you read that right! Due to federal statutes that cap overtime earnings, FEMA will be allowed to garnish these hardworking men and women's future paychecks. AND if that isn't bad enough, some employees might still be required to work without receiving pay. Let me tell you something right now, I like many of you reading this post, aren't working for free! Not gonna do it and not gonna happen. Allegedly, also according to FEMA, none of the 500 affected employees are "boots on the ground" employees. They're all in management. Those who are impacted have been approached regarding repayment options. Listen, I don't care if I work in management or if I was knocking on doors and handing out meals, guess who's paycheck yall wouldn't be touching for your oversight? And I wish somebody would approach me and question how I'm going to pay back the hours that I've worked! These federal statutes aren't anything new, so somebody in FEMA or wherever should've been paying attention and clocking their hours and when they reach that limit, guess what, you gotta go home! But, I digress, can't be too terribly surprised that nobody knows what they're doing due to who's in charge. Friday 01/12/2018
