This is going to be a brief post, just something I wanted to share.
Yesterday, US District Court Judge Michael McShane sentenced John Roos (62) to 5 years in prison for making threats to kill President Obama over social media. He was also sentenced to 3 years of supervision to begin when he's released from prison. Roos admitted in court that he threatened to kill President Obama and his family via Twitter and he also posted on Facebook threats to kill FBI agents with hunting rifles. After making his admission of guilt, he also said the threats weren't serious. He plead guilty to charges related to the threats and other charges for possession of an unregistered explosive device. Brief thoughts: If the threats weren't serious, why did you feel the need to post them on social media? See, this is why social media pages are blog related only, on my Instagram there may be a couple pics of me, my dog, and my friends, but nothing more than that. People think they can say whatever they want via social media because they think nobody's watching or paying attention to what they're posting. Doesn't matter if you were joking or just venting your frustrations, making a threat of that nature is a felony and not worth it. For as much as I despise the air that Donald Trump breaths, I'm highly cautious about the things I say about him. I don't believe in censoring what I have to say when it comes to him, but I be damned if I say something that crazy cause 1. People are always watching when it comes down to the president and 2. Donald J. Trump isn't worth my freedom.
