Another quick post that I wanted to share.
After making changes to it's voter ID law, Texas legislature approved the revised version on Sunday, and have sent it Governor Greg Abbott. The changes include increasing the list of appropriate and acceptable IDs. IDs can now include passport cards, recently expired IDs, gun licenses, etc. Surprisingly, college IDs aren't considered an acceptable form of identification in the state. The revised version of the bill will also include allowing people without IDs to vote by signing an affidavit. Should a person lie on the affidavit, they could be charged with a felony. A judge has twice ruled the 2011 original version of the the bill intentionally attempted to suppress the votes of minorities.
