...sighs...What's done in the dark will ALWAYS come to light, yet people still don't believe that for some reason!
By now, I'm sure many of you have either seen the video or heard the recording of Cobb County Lt. Greg Abbott attempting to "deescalate" a white motorist, but for those that haven't, prepare yourself. In the dashcam video from back in July 2016, Abbott can be heard trying to convince a white motorist to get out of her vehicle, so he can impound it. Abbott then tells the woman to reach for her phone in her lap, the woman replies, "I just don't want to put my hands down. I've just seen way too many videos of cops...(the audio is garbled)" Abbott in an attempt to calm her nerves says this bullshit, "But you're not black. Remember? We only kill black people. Yeah. We only kill black people right? All the videos you've seen, have you seen white people get killed?" Well, ladies and gentlemen, this jackass of an idiot, who was placed on the usual administrative duties while the department investigated the video, has been fired! A veteran of the force for 27 years and all it took was a couple of seconds to ruin that career, words have power! Here's what Cobb County Chief Mike Register had to say regarding his decision to fire Abbott, "There's really no place for these types of comments in law enforcement. I feel that no matter what context you try to take those comments in, the statements were inexcusable and inappropriate. They're not indicative of the values that I'm trying to instill within the Cobb County police department and that I believe the country holds. My staff's worked hard. Men and women who wear the Cobb County uniform have worked hard. And, I think that we have done some great things here in the last few months. It's sad to think that several seconds of video has the potential of tearing that apart, and I hope that is not the case. This badge and this uniform should mean that there's justice and fairness for all." Register also stated that he learned about what Abbot said after a local TV station obtained the video and brought it to his attention. He also made it clear that he and the department will rework its policies for reviewing videos to better catch problems. Brief thoughts: I LOVE when karma is swift! Here this officer is thinking that he got away with the disgusting and damaging words that came spewing out of his mouth a year prior, ohhhhhh, but karma always finds her way around and you've now lost your career that's spanned for 2 decades. Was it worth it? Think you should've used different words like, "It's ok. I know you're scared, I'm not going to hurt you." Anything else would've been more helpful than what you said, you idiot! When she said what she said, it would've been a powerful moment if he had said something to denounced the killings of unarmed black people, but nooooo, he had to join the racist bandwagon and now you're getting everything you deserve. Enjoy unemployment you racist asshole. Also, can we have more officers like Police Chief Mike Register please and thank you! The moral of this story: words have power, somebody is always watching, and karma is always going to repay you for the things you do!
