Here's the thing, in a relationship, when you get to the point where you have to check your partner's phone, you should know there's a problem. Keep this analogy in mind for later on down this post. In case folks have been living under a rock for the past 2 months, there's been nothing but a slew of problems @ 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Brace yourself for the latest one cause it's pure comedy, seriously you can't make this crap up. Ol PERIOD Sean, has been requiring that his staff members hand over their personal and government phones, so he can check them and make sure they're not leaking information to the "fake news." ...deep breath... I won't deny that there is such thing as fake news, in this digital and social media era we live in, anybody can log online and spew any fake shit they can think of. However, if the things that you are saying can be proven to be untrue, it's not fake news, it's called lying. Your boss has you stand behind a podium, lie to the American people everyday, and piss away any and all credibility that you may have left.
You're going to ban the news outlets that don't bow down and kiss your ass for honestly and morally doing their jobs, for calling you out on your bullshit, and for the fact that you are doing a piss poor job already? In life you either fix the root cause of the problem or you decide to live with the problem and do nothing. Back to my relationship analogy, if you recognize that you have to go through your partner's phone to see what they're up to, you either choose to live in the land of denial or you get the hell outta dodge. In the case of ol Sean, you can either continue to lie your way through the next 4 years and live in your own world of alternative reality (see what I did there) or you and your boss can simply just tell the truth, then you wouldn't have to ban these people for just trying to do their jobs, and you also wouldn't have to invade people's privacy by going through their phones. But that would be too much like right and common sense apparently ain't too common.
