We'll put this in the win column for LGBTQ rights!
The Supreme Court has once again rejected an appeal from a San Diego minister and others regarding gay conversion therapy. The group claimed that banning conversion therapy violated their 1st Amendment religious freedoms. California Gov. Jerry Brown signed the ban into law in 2012 and the Supreme Court has been rejecting efforts to reverse the ruling in California and New Jersey ever since. My thoughts: I will never understand if it something doesn't affect you, why are you so worried and bothered about how somebody else lives? How are your religious freedoms being violated if you're not gay? Somebody please explain that to me! Why does another person loving somebody of the same sex bother you so much if that's not how you love?! Stop trying to push your religious beliefs on other people! If you don't want to live a gay lifestyle, then continue being straight and mind your own damn business! Another thing, conversion therapy doesn't work. It leads people to live these lies just to try to appease the people around them. You're not going to go to hell for being gay, the man upstairs created you just the way you are and he loves all his children, conversion therapy is not the way to go! You're born gay, lesbian, bi, queer, etc. Own it, embrace it, love it, live in your truth!
