General Kelly, you might want to cover up because your inner racist is showing.
Our resident Chief of Staff and failing Trump babysitter, made an appearance on Trump's favorite, Fox News where he said this bout of nonsense and foolishness, "I would tell you that Robert E. Lee was an honorable man. He was a man that gave up his country to fight for his state, which 150 years ago was more important than country. It was always loyalty to state first back in those days. Now, it's different today. But the lack of ability to compromise led to the Civil War, and men and women of good faith on both sides made their stand where their conscience had them make their stand." Let's stop here shall we cause yes it does get dumber. ...sighs...Where to even start? Nobody should be surprised that John Kelly would say something so stupid...I mean look @ who he works for and has to try and babysit everyday. Trump is a known, loud, and proud racist, who surrounded himself with an administration of racists. So, this isn't surprising, this is just the dumb sh*t that racist idiots say. Anybody with @ least a 5th grade education knows that slavery was a major factor of the Civil War and that's not up for debate. So from what I gathered from Kelly's statement, slavery apparently never happened because unless I'm really just that sight challenged, I didn't see 1 mention of slavery in his bs statement. What part of Robert E. Lee was honorable? The man fought to keep black people held hostage and work to build up this country into what it is today and get absolutely positively nothing in return! So, please enlighten me, what part of treating somebody as less than a human being honorable? Slavery is the greatest sin and shame of this country. Robert E. Lee fought proudly for the raping of women, children, (and I'm sure men) physical and mental abuse, the lynching and murdering of people just because they look different from you, the separating of families, etc, yet he's an honorable man??? And what compromise would you be speaking of sir? I see you were quick to leave that part out, but I know exactly what type of compromise you're speaking of. You wanted the North and those who opposed slavery to bow down and surrender to the South and those who supported slavery. Moving on, Kelly also had this to say, "There will be, 100 or 200 years from now, people that criticize us for what we do, and I guess they'll tear down, you know statues of people that we revere today. It's dangerous, I think. It's just very, very dangerous and it shows you what, how much of a lack of appreciation of history and what history is." ...sighs...again where to start?? I need for people to understand that you can't erase history, it's already happened, it's been documented, there is absolutely positively nothing we can do to change the past. So, in 100 or 200 years people are going to criticize us for taking down the statues of people who fought in a war to keep Africans enslaved?? You're joking right? If anything, there are more people who agree with the statues coming down than keeping them up. People are woke now, they understand that those statues weren't put up to honor those men, they were put up to keep black and brown people living in fear, PERIOD! And who the hell is revering these people besides their stuck in the past, white nationalist base?? Hell their own families members have come out and said they're ok with the statues coming down, so what the hell are yall so mad about these statues for?? I just do not get it! John Kelly, yes he'll be referred to as just John Kelly on this blog from here on out because I have 0 respect for him. My lack of respect for him has been building for a long time and this is just the straw that broke the camels back for me. So, John Kelly, you need to have a whole stadium of seats, get you a history book, and educate yourself. And when you're ready, we'll gladly welcome you on the right side of history!
