As yall know, I've been trying to stray away from posting about things that I deem as distractions from the greater picture of what's going on in this country. After thinking long and hard (I'm exaggerating), I decided to do this post for the mere fact that I respect any and everybody that has the balls and the audacity to stand up to Trump and his henchmen! Any and everybody that has the "courage" to do so deserves a space on my blog! For those that haven't seen what transpired or haven't heard, here's a recap of what happened during Tuesday's daily lie presentation aka press briefing (I'VE ALSO INCLUDED VIDEO BELOW):
Karem went on MSNBC's 'Morning Joe' where he had this to say about the experience he had the day before:
Brief thought: I've said this time and time again and will continue to say it. Donald Trump and company, it's not fake news just because it doesn't paint you in a positive light! The press' job is to tell the American people the truth since you and your team are incapable of doing so!

The 1st thing I said after I saw this video was, "What in the entire hell is going on?" *Video of the assault has been provided below, per usual extreme caution should be used prior to watching the video** A little background information on what happened to Anthony Promvongsa (22):
What's not seen in the video is what allegedly happened prior to the assault:
Because of this incident, Promvongsa was charged with the following:
The ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) has come out with the following statements:
Anthony Promvongsa had this to say about his encounter:

Brief thought: I'm not shocked that this is potentially going to happen. The fact that a black man did everything right and still wound up dead @ the hands of an officer, is just the American way @ this point. Maybe this asshole would've known he had a permit to carry if he wasn't so trigger happy. It's amazing what Yanez would've found out about Castile, if that pesky ol thing called murder didn't occur. I'm not shocked by this, but I am absolutely positively outraged. You were so trigger happy that you didn't even give the man a chance to explain himself. Let's just hand the trial over to the officer @ this point. ORIGINAL POST **WARNING: Video of the incident has been provided below and viewers should use caution before watching due to it's graphic nature** The trial into the murder of Philando Castille is now underway.
#blacklivesmatter #sayhisname For all those Trump supporters out there, just because he gets a pass by some people to act an ass, doesn't mean yall have the same privilege!
On a flight from Shanghai to Newark, Sunday before last, some man in a "Make America Great Again" hate decided he wanted to be 1 of those supporters that wanted to act an ass. Here's how the series of events goes: **Video of the incident has been provided below!**
Again, just because your fearless leader acts like an asshole, doesn't give you the right to follow suit. There may not be consequences to his actions just yet cause it's a process, but there are immediate consequences to your bullshit. To me, it doesn't matter if he was wearing a Make America Great Again hat or something different, there's no need or reason to be an irritant! **Video of the incident has been provided below, please use extreme caution before viewing!** Richard Rojas (26) was charged yesterday on 1 count of murder, 20 counts of attempted murder, and aggravated vehicular homicide after he purposefully drove his car into a crowd of people in Times Square. According to police, @ 11:55am, Rojas was driving south on 7th Ave when he slowed down, allowed traffic to pass, made a U-turn @ 42nd Street; sped up, and started to hit pedestrians, after he crashed, he exited the car, civilians and police detained him as he tried to flee the scene. According to prosecutors, Rojas said after the incident, "I wanted to kill them" and that police should have shot him. He also admitted the following to authorities, "I smoked marijuana. I laced the marijuana with PCP." 18 year old Alyssa Elsman, who was in New York on vacation was killed in the crash and her 13 year old sister was severely injured. Her sister is still in the hospital with a collapsed lung and broken pelvis. 3 other people are still in the hospital with critical injuries from the crash. His next court appearance is scheduled for May 24th. Brief thoughts: Rojas was a Navy veteran and I believe that I read or heard somewhere that he suffered from PTSD due to his time in the Navy. Now in no way shape, form, or fashion am I excusing what he did cause what he did was disgusting, deplorable, and unnecessary, however if he did or does have PTSD and it was known to those around him, somebody should've tried to get him some help. Clearly he was suffering from some sort of mental illness cause a sane person doesn't just plow into a crowd of people cause they don't have anything better to do! We may never know why he did what he did, but clearly he needs some sort of mental health treatment. UPDATE
ORIGINAL POST **Per usual below, I included the video of her arrest and I also included another video that's kinda conspiracy theory. I'm in no way shape, form, or fashion deeming what they said in the 2nd video as correct, but it's definitely something that'll make you take a step back and think.** A bill that was supposed to honor Sandra Bland's memory and resolve the issues surrounding the reason why she was had an encounter with police has been disappointingly scaled down. Before we dig into the meat and potatoes of this post, a little background info on what happened to Sandra Bland for those that don't know:
In March, the original version of the "Sandra Bland Act" was introduced and was supposed to enforce police accountability and anti racial profiling measures, however this version received a ton of backlash from Republicans and law enforcement groups. The original bill would've also required a higher degree of proof for stopping and searching vehicles, counseling and training for officers who racially profile drivers. It also would have banned arrests over offenses that are punishable by fine. Now, the revised version of the bill focuses on better mental healthcare access, better jail trailing, increased supervision of inmates, mental health training for jailers, and more deescalation training for officers. "What the bill does in its current state renders Sandy invisible. It's frustrating and gut wrenching. The legislation as it now stands isolates the very person it seeks to honor and makes compromises at the expense of the family. It painfully misses the mark for us."--Sharon Cooper, Sandra Bland's older sister, speaking on behalf of their family in an interview with The Associated Press on Friday Cooper wouldn't outright say that Sandra's name should be removed from the bill, but being that Sandra's friends, family, and activists have always expressed skepticism that Sandra committed suicide, they've taken issue with her name being attached to what's now a mental health bill. Brief thoughts: I agree if they bill isn't going to address the reason why she was pulled over, then her name doesn't need to be attached to it. I'm still purplexed, after all this time as to why a simple traffic stop caused Sandra to be forcibly removed from her vehicle? That's the question I have when all of these incidents arise, how did it get to the point and what were the officers thinking to make them feel like killing another human being was justifiable? The bill in its current state, just makes it seem like this is a bill about somebody who have mental illness issues, and that may be true, who knows, but it the other actions hadn't occurred, it wouldn't have gotten to the point it did in that jail cell, and who really knows what happened in that cell. #blacklivesmatter #sayhername And so another one begins... **CAUTION: Video of the shooting is below The manslaughter trial for Tulsa police officer Betty Shelby, began today after she shot and killed Terence Crutcher on September 16, 2016. Shelby has been on unpaid leave since the shooting...and rightfully so. Terence and Shelby came into contact with one another after she was on her way to respond to a domestic situation call, but saw him on the side of the road after his vehicle broke down. According to the Tulsa County District Attorney's office, Shelby "reacted unreasonably by escalating the situation from a confrontation with Mr. Crutcher, who was not responding to verbal commands and was walking away from her with his hands held up, becoming emotionally involved to the point that she overreacted." Attorneys for Shelby said before the video started she has repeatedly commanded Terence to stop walking and get on the ground. Per usual, Shelby "feared for her life" because she thought Terence was reaching into his car for a gun. **I just bet she commanded that since we conveniently can't see it.** The 1st witness for the prosecution was Tyler Turnbough, who's also a Tulsa police officer. Turnbough said he saw Shelby draw her gun, so he drew his taser to prevent a lethal situation. He claims he told Shelby that he had drawn his taser, but he wasn't sure if she heard him. Also claims he saw Terence reach his left hand into the window of his Lincoln Navigator, which caused him to fire his taser and Shelby to shot Terence. Per usual, Shelby has plead not guilty, and if convicted of 1st degree manslaughter, she faces 4 years to life in prison. A civil rights investigation into Terence's death was also started by the Justice Department. Fun fact: The jury consists of two black women, seven white women and three white men. The alternates are one black man and one white woman. Brief thoughts: I'll continuously always be baffled as to why officers are sooooo trigger happy?? Why is it that this 1 officer has the common sense to draw his taser if he feels some type of way and this other officer immediately went for her gun? In my honest opinion, I don't think he was reaching for anything, clearly he wasn't trying to cause any problems if he was walking away with his hands. I believe that he was walking back, and turned to simply place his hands on his vehicle. Another thing I wanted to mention, in the video, which will be provided below and caution is encouraged before you view, even though we all know how it ends. The video is courtesy of The Young Turks cause I'm a fan of some of their videos, but another thing I wanted to say is in the video, you can hear somebody say, "that looks like a bad dude too, could be on something." I believe the person that said this was a person in a helicopter flying over where the incident was taking place, so clearly you're not up close to look @ Terence and see him, so how in the hell does he look like a bad dude? I know how, he has dark colored skin and nothing else. And in case you didn't know, all black people do drugs. This person also said, "they need to taser that thing." 1st and foremost and above all, he's not a thing, he's a man, and a human being that died for no reason. Another thing that disgusts me, is that after Terence was shot, the person talking in the helicopter is more concerned about shutting down that stretch of road than the person who was sprawled out on the street because he had just gotten shot. And then everybody just stands around, watching, and letting him die. I'm just continuously baffled on how people of color go about their lives, doing everyday tasks and activities, yet they wind up dead. His car broke down on the side of the highway, yet he ended up dead even though he did nothing wrong. Hell, if I'm broke down on the side of the highway, don't come help me, just leave me be, and I'll wait until either highway assistance or a friend gets here if I have the possibility of ending up dead just for breaking down. I'm going to remain hopeful and optimistic that she'll be convicted, but regardless she'll have a higher authority to answer for when this life is over and we all know where she's going. #blacklivesmatter #sayhisname Welcome to Chapter 4 in the What The Hell Chronicles. This edition is called: Another day, another story of somebody being kicked off a flight for no reason! **Video of the incident will be provided below** This incident took place on a flight that was returning from Kahului Airport in Maui, Hawaii on April 23rd and the passengers involved were a family from California, Brian and Brittany Schear as well as their 2 toddlers. According to the Schear family, the problem started when they wanted to use the seat they had purchased for their 18 year old son and have their toddler sit there instead. Their older son had returned home on an earlier flight. On Delta's website it's outlined that tickets can't be transferred and name changes aren't allowed, however federal regulations don't prohibit name changes on a ticket as long as the new passenger can have their name run through a database before the flight. Brian Schear, can be seen speaking to somebody that's not seen on camera, it's not known if the person is a security guard, a Delta employee, or somebody else altogether. Brian Schear can then be seen and heard saying that he won't leave and the airline will have to remove him. The person off camera says, "You and your wife will be in jail, it's a federal offense if you don't abide by an airline crew's order." Brian then says, "I bought that seat," he also suggests that his Brittany could hold 1 of their children during takeoff and then put the child in the car seat. A Delta supervisors appears and tells them that federal rule requires that children under 2 must stay in a parent's lap throughout the flight...which is a lie. The FAA advises that young children be placed in a car seat and allows children under 2 to be held in a parent's lap. By the time the video went viral and the incident spread, Delta hadn't given an explanation on why the family was removed from the plane, a spokesperson for Delta cleared up the fact that the flight wasn't overbooked. Delta apologized Friday by saying, "We are sorry for the unfortunate experience our customers had with Delta, and we've reached out to them to refund their travel and provide additional compensation," the statement read. Delta said its goal is to work with customers to resolve travel issues, "that did not happen in this case and we apologize." Of course the amount of compensation as well as refund amount weren't provided. Quick thoughts: if they purchased the ticket, who gives a shit who sits in it? They purchased it with the intention of having their 18 year old sit there, he went ahead, so since I paid for it, I'm going to have 1 of my other children sit there! There was no reason for this family to be kicked off of their flight. If it's not against federal law, then what's the problem? They threatened this family with jail time just for refusing to give up 1 of their seats. Listen, if I paid for it, then I'm not giving it up if I don't want to. Now, if the person who I'm giving it up for is willing to give me what I purchased for the seat, then we can talk, if not, it ain't happening. This family was also threatened with having their children taken away over this! What in the entire world? It's just a plane seat, these people made it seem like these parents were beating the life out of these kids infront of everybody. Again, listen, you don't mess with people's children or make threats about having their children taken away, so I hope they got Delta for ALL they're worth for threatening to have their children taken away cause that's some sick ass shit and way overstepping boundaries. There's enough craziness in the world and these issues that are happening on these flights more and more aren't necessary and/or needed additions. ...sighs...once again, the video of the incident will be below, use caution before viewing because it is very graphic! **NOTE: I'm only sighing because this is the 3rd post in a row I've done about this subject and it's frustrating watching the videos of the incidents and watch men be murdered for no reason.** Tomorrow it's expected that the Justice Department will announce no charges will be filed against the officers that murdered Alton Sterling. In case you were buried under a rock last summer, here's a brief recap of what happpened:
My brief thoughts: I don't have any words. Actually, I do. When these situations happen, I, as well as others would like to be optimistic that justice will prevail and the right things will happen, but the outcome of this situation further proves our point that black lives don't matter in this country because we allow these people to get away scott free. However, if the shoe was on the other foot and a black man murdered a white man, they would bury our black asses underneath the jail so fast! I expect protests to occur in the city when the formal announcement comes out tomorrow, I don't blame the people of Baton Rouge, however it would be ideal if these protests are nonviolent and peaceful. #sayhisname #blacklivesmatter UPDATE #2
**Not surprising, but disappointing as always** UPDATE
ORIGINAL POST Now this is some foolishness and will be a brief post. During the retrial for the officer that shot and killed Sam DuBose during a traffic stop in July 2015, lawyers for Ray Tensing said that jurors shouldn't see the t-shirt with a confederate flag emblem he was wearing under his uniform. The shirt is below... ..sighs.. The video of the incident will be provided below. As always, proceed with caution, it very graphic, but important to see in terms of details about what happened. Lawyers for the former University of Cincinnati police officer believe that the shirt doesn't have any "evidentiary value" and should be excluded to ensure a fair trial. Per usual, Tensing said that he shot Sam because he "feared for his life as DuBose tried to drive away and that the shirt's emblem meant nothing to him." His first trial ended with a hung jury. My brief thoughts: listen, I don't buy anything that doesn't mean anything to me, whether it's clothes, food, electronics, etc, so I'm gonna call bullshit. Devil's advocate, does the shirt mean that he's just a vile racist, of course not, I went to high school with white people that had the confederate flag hanging off the back of their pickups, they wore shirts with the confederate flag on them, and I worked in a store that carried products with the confederate flag on them, yet I was friends with these people in high school and I never had any problems @ that job. Maybe, I'm bias because I grew up in the "south" and in the country. Now, does it look suspect on the day that you shoot and kill an unarmed black man, ABSOLUTELY! There's no denying that because you couldn't find any other shirt to put on under your uniform?? **side eye** Ok, sir. Another thing, I wanted to mention, just like in the case of Walter Scott, how are you fearing for your life, if the person is moving away from you whether it's on foot or if they're driving away? Can somebody answer that for me? He didn't have to get out of his car, that's his right, and I'm willing to bet he didn't want to get out of the car because he was afraid. In the video, it's clear that you were trying to force him out the vehicle because you opened the door and then you reached into his vehicle...for what? Also, you shot him in the head, after the struggle of you trying to get into his car, it's perfectly clear in the video! I believe that after he was shot, he went into shock of course, and then the vehicle accelerated forward before crashing. I don't believe him accelerating forward was a conscious move because A. you shot him in the head and B. in the video you can see his body go limp. AND THEN when other officers respond, you come up with some bullshit that he dragged you...where sir? You shot him dead, he had no control over the vehicle, soooo how sway? The only way you could've even possibly been dragged was because YOU decided to put YOUR arm in his vehicle, then YOU shot him dead, HE had no control over the vehicle, which comes back to being YOUR fault. Something I would like officers to understand, we as black people and/or people of color are more afraid of yall, then yall are afraid of us. #sayhisname #blacklivesmatter |
