UPDATE
Trump is still flapping his gums via Twitter because he clearly doesn't have enough to do! Here's what he had to say in response to Roger Goodell: Here's what some NFL owners had to say in response to Trump's comments: More players have come out to share their thoughts on Trump's comments regarding the NFL and the Warriors: ORIGINAL POST
I really really wanted to do this post last night, but couldn't cause the things that were said made me sooo mad that I thought it best to not get on here and start typing away. Last night, Trump was in Huntsville, Alabama campaigning for Luther Strange, who's a candidate seeking to secure a seat in the Senate that was left vacant by Jeff Sessions. As expected, Trump went off the rails and started talking a bunch of nonsense in an effort to appease his base. Somehow, during his speech, Trump thought it would be a good idea to speak about certain things going on in the NFL...wanna take a wild guess what those certain things are? Just hold on to your guess and continue reading to see if you're correct. Trump had the following to say about those certain things, "Wouldn't you love to see one of the NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, "Get that son of a bitch off the field right now? You know, some owner is going to say, 'That guy who disrespects our flag, he's fired."' He also encouraged people to leave the stadium to protest players kneeling during the national anthem, saying "I guarantee things will stop." I can feel myself getting pissed off all over again and you should be pissed off by what this embarrassment of a human being had to say as well. Before we move on, I just wanna get some things off my mind. Not standing for the anthem or raising a fist through the anthem is not disrespect, it's mine, yours, and these players' rights as American citizens. And let's not forget that it's not about the flag itself, people keep forgetting the meaning behind these protests. Let's remember that Colin Kaepernick started his protests in an effort to highlight the unjust and numerous killings of unarmed black and brown people @ the hands of police....remember that? Trump saying what he said has made it clear that he's a racist, he has no idea what he's talking about, and he's contributing to the problem isn't of helping. Trump just loves to call for the firing of somebody when in fact, it's he that should be fired because he's an embarrassment to this country and he's not doing a damn thing to help this country or bring it back together. So, you want these men to be fired for exercising their rights as Americans? Ok, so let's say that these owners do fire these players, guess what's gonna happen next! Even bigger boycotts, lawsuits, etc. Lastly, people can leave whatever stadium they may be in, but that's never going to stop these protests! The only thing that's going to stop the protests are people who stop killing unarmed black and brown folks. It's not rocket science, it's simple! Here are reactions from the NFL's commissioner and players:

UPDATE
Here is your Friday Chicago update:
**Maybe tomorrow solutions will be figured out to stop the violence and 1 day we can stop saying maybe tomorrow** Well...that didn't go as planned.
Former FBI Director James Comey attempted to deliver a convocation address @ Howard University in DC today and as expected a lot of students weren't pleased with him being there. As Comey was about to speak, protesters stood up and started chanting things such as, "we shall not be moved," "I love being black," "white supremacy is not a debate," "get out Comey, you're not our homey," and "no justice, no peace, no racist police." In response to the chants and jeers, Comey told the angry crowd, "I am here @ Howard to have a conversation. I hope you'll stay and listen to what I have to say. I've listened to you for five minutes." Do you think that stopped the crowd?? OF COURSE NOT! After listening to the chants and protests for a couple more minutes, Comey said, "Can we give this another shot?" Also, @ 1 point, Howard University cut the live feed to the event and replaced it with a documentary about the history of the school. The feed was later put back up. Brief thoughts: I'm honestly on the fence about all of this. On 1 hand, I don't think Comey is a bad guy, and I respect that he stood up to Trump even til the bitter end. Although, I will admit that I'll never be able to forgive and forget that he brought up Clinton's emails right before the election for absolutely no reason! Now, on the other hand, I do understand where these protesters are coming from. As an African American in this country, if some high level person in the FBI or the Justice Department said they were gonna come speak wherever I may be, I can admit I would be a tad bit hesitant to welcome them with open arms too. I'm all about making sure the voices of the oppressed are here, hence why I started this blog, but in terms of what happened today @ Howard, I believe that they should've given him a chance and just heard what he had to say. You don't have to like the guy, but give the guy a chance and then if you don't like what he has to say protest until you can't protest any longer! I also understand that there are a million other people on the face of this Earth that Howard could've chosen to give the convocation as opposed to Comey. There are so many other people that could've been chosen who would've had a greater influence on these young people than Comey, so I understand that it does feel like a wasted opportunity. My only hope is that now that they've made their positions known loud and clear, a conversation can now be had with Comey to educate him on what it is to be black in America and how his positions and rulings on certain things have negatively impacted our community. Just a little something that I wanted to pass along.
So, on Wednesday, Trump was speaking during a working lunch with leaders @ the United Nations General Assembly and per usual he spoke in only a way Trump would deem to be appropriate. He was congratulating leaders of African nations on the business potential of their countries and then trailed off and said this, "I have so many friends going to your countries trying to get rich. I congratulate you. It's really become a place that they have to go, that they want to go." Brief thoughts: When I read about this, the only thing that I could think of was that I wasn't surprised that Trump's friends go to Africa trying to get rich. Why should any of us be surprised that his friends are going to the world's poorest continent and using it to help them get rich quick? Let's be perfectly clear, the only thing minorities and minority based countries are good for to Trump, his family, and friends is money. Trump doesn't respect minorities or see us as people, he just sees us opportunities to line his pockets, and I have no doubt in my mind that his friends feel the same way. Just as quick as they would take the money from Africa, I guarantee, they wouldn't do squat to try and make Africa better, and they for damn sure wouldn't even dream of teaching the citizens of Africa how they could make money too. If the people already living there are making all the money, and bettering their lives, then Trump and his friends would never have a reason to even go there. 9/26/2017 Update #2
